QUICKIE: Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed

ITEM: Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed (This link is to the Australian retailer. Link to Sephora is here.)
RRP: $60 (Sydney Sephora Price)

Claims: Refined luminosity in any light. This formula features ultra-fine luminescent pearls that absorb, reflect and refract light so your natural glow is never lost. Unlike the traditional pressed powder method, which simply mixes and compresses dry ingredients, this unique process blends pigments with proprietary liquid binders, resulting in unparalleled, creamy application with balanced colour dispersion. This formula features multi-toned, ultra-fine pigment pearls that adjust to skin's natural undertones. Formulated without parabens.

Shade: Moonstone
Quickies will be quick and concise reviews of products. To kick-start this series I decided to review the all too hyped Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Powder. The shade I purchased was Moonstone because I felt this was more suitable for my skin colour than the oh-so-popular Opal. (That... and Opal was sold out).

SWATCH: BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed
Has a beautiful glow and is not shimmery at all
PROS
  • Creamy and buttery smooth
  • Highly pigmented (a little goes a long way)
  • Not shimmery but a beautiful natural glow
  • Sturdy packaging (so unlikely to crack or break the product inside)
CONS
  • Australian price point (considering it's an Australian product, it's very disappointing that it's $60 in Australia and $38 in America)
  • The two most universal shades (Moonstone and Opal) are always sold out

Is there a dupe? Personally, I feel that this was comparable to theBalm's Mary-Loumanizer which retails for only $33.78 (AUD). Just, theBalm is ever-so-slightly more shimmery and the packaging makes the product more susceptible to cracking or breakage. Otherwise it's a definite cheaper alternative.
