QUICKIE: Urban Decay Naked Concealer

ITEM: Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer (U.S. link HERE)
RRP: $36AUD (Price at Mecca)

Yet another product that I have been dying to try because of all the hype. This is a very quick and concise summary of the pros & cons of the product. I also provide my overall opinion & rating.

PROS
  • The applicator is very unique. It is super easy to use, flexible and easy to apply onto the skin
  • Has a creamy and silky texture that blends seamlessly into the skin.
  • Does not dry out the skin. Isn't super hydrating, but it also doesn't dry out your skin.
  • Medium coverage
The unique applicator.
A flat side.
The unique applicator.
The fat side.
CONS
  • Creases a little on me. I do find it almost impossible to find something that won't crease though.
  • Colour range is limited. There are 8 shades, however I think the pink and yellow undertones are rather stark and so essentially there are only 4 shades or so per undertone.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer
Shade: Medium Light Neutral
I am an NC25-30 skin and this is only slightly lighter than my natural skin colour.
Overall: I do like the product. It is really light weight, has decent coverage and is super blend-able. Although it does crease on me, I don't think it's a super ugly type of creasy and since it is rather hydrating, it doesn't feel gross and crepe-y. The colour range is limited and because of that, I can't find a colour that will (on it's own) highlight my under-eye area. So, I mainly use this for more subtle highlighting or on an everyday basis just to cover any bags or dark circles. I however, am IN LOVE with the applicator. It's just so unique and flexible and easy to use that it really makes the product that much more appealing. It really is one of the key selling points for me.

Rating: 7.5/10

  1. I'm probably going to have the same problem you do with the tones. I'm glad I read your review before buying. :)

  2. Ugh I hate it when they crease, it's so frustrating. I ise Nars concealer and I find that it creases on me as well.

    1. Hi Ashlyn! Yes the NARS Concealer creases on me too! :( I actually find it virtually impossible to find one that doesn't. MAC Prolongwear comes close but... even that creases on me. And because of my dry skin, it actually gets quite dry underneath there so it's not the most flattering either. I suggest always looking up when you pat in the concealer and make sure you're patting it toward the inner corner and not just blending out. Then quickly set it with a light powder! That always gives me the best result. I will have an upcoming makeup tips and hacks post if you want any tips! :)

If you have any advice on minimising creasing let me know too! Thanks for reading babe xx

  3. I have been trying to find a nice concealer that doesn't settle in fine lines and create creases, but so far the best I've used is still the Age Rewind from Maybelline. I've tried some high end ones and they're just not worth the $$ :) Thanks for the great review!

    1. I have yet to enjoy that concealer. It's so strange because everyone loves it but... I just find something a little too 'fluffy' about the formula. But thanks so much for the recommendation! Maybe I'll try it again because the creasing under my eyes is pretty bad :(

  4. I've never had problems with creasing, but finding anything light enough to work well as a concealer for me is nearly impossible.

    1. I suggest maybe the MAC Prolong wear or the NARS Radiant Creamy. They have quite fair shades!

    2. Pegi, the Tarte creaseless concealer in fair is really light, the lightest shades in most makeup lines are too dark for me and the Tarte one is perfect. Its a great formula too, a little goes a really long way.

    1. I love this (even for the price). But I wouldn't say it's comparable to the MAC Prolongwear! It's quite different. This is much thinner and less coverage. MAC Prolongwear is full on coverage with a thicker more dry consistency. This is a bit more hydrating, a lot thinner and only a light-medium coverage in my opinion! The colour range is more limited on this. But I feel like this one is less likely to dry out your under eyes (if that's a probably you have) ;);)
