REVIEW: Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask - Champagne

ITEM: Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask (Champagne)
RRP: $30 (Sydney Sephora Price)

Claims: This lip mask improves the texture of lips so that they're more hydrated, healthier-looking, soothed, and softer feeling. Infused with organic agave nectar, jojoba oil, and triple the amount of trans-resveratrol - the miracle antioxidant found in red wine - this formula heals an soothes lips.

Now, one thing to note about me is I am a huge sceptic when it comes to hydrating products - be it skincare, makeup or lip balm. I have eczema so... things that most people find hydrating does very little for me. So when purchasing this product, I had low expectations (despite all the hype around it). But wow! I was completely blown away... Like... completely.

Bite beauty is known to use "food grade ingredients" in their products. Which is amazing considering that their products are all for the lips and inevitably, we will swallow half the product. I purchased my lip mask at Sydney Sephora (it was actually one of the more reasonably priced brands in the store).

The consistency of the product is surprisingly thick. However remember that a little goes a very long way with this.

Please note: The day I allocated for photos, I had a bit of a reaction to a lip scrub on my lips which caused the slight red blotches.
What blew me away? Prior to using this product I had extremely dry and flakey lips. There was a very limited number of lip products that I could use if I wanted to be satisfied with the way it looked. My lips particularly rejected Gerard Cosmetics lipsticks and lipglosses. (Which didn't stop me excessively buying them). However after two uses of the balm my lips began to feel like a baby's bottom!!! They felt smooth, hydrated and... perfect. Still sceptical, I tried on the Gerard Cosmetics Nude lipstick and it had never glided on so smoothly before. I was floored!

Note: You can see that there is close to no flakes (even with a zoomed in close up shot with a DSLR). Usually, the flakes are visible to the naked eye.
Overall: This lip mask exceeds the claims. I have used every lip balm under the sun - paw paw, eos, blistex, QV, chapstick, you name it i tried it. NOTHING has EVER done this for my lips. Even exfoliating them did not produce this kind of result. I think its worth the $30 price tag without a sliver of doubt. I am extremely critical on any product that claims to hydrate or repair anything so take my word when I say this product is amazing! My lips have never felt this good before.

Rating: 10/10*
*Note: I am a tough critic so a rating of 10/10 will be rare to see in the future. I wouldn't even give products i used religiously for years a perfect score! That's how genuinely impressed I was with this product.

  1. wow! That's incredible. I'm not a fan of paw paw ointments - I mainly stick to baby lips - but this stuff looks amazing!

    1. I haven't tried baby lips before, but usually the cosmetic brand ones don't work very well for me. This however, is truly amazing!
